Cool Sprayed T-Shirt Project
Nosotros're big fans of making art on t-shirts, because, hey, wearable fine art!
This is a fun, non-toxic fashion for kids to get a spray-paint consequence and outfit themselves with a new t-shirt in anticipation of Spring. I was originally going to make this project using spray paint, and was so excited to find a production that acts similar spray pigment without the fumes.
Materials:
- 100% cotton t-shirt in white (Hello, Target.)
- Cloth spray paint: I can't even find the pigment we used online anymore- lots of people said they clogged after one employ, which seems to be the case with many textile paints. For this reason, I suggest ownership small bottles if you lot're just doing a shirt or 2. These actually get nifty reviews, so nosotros'll try these next, and you lot can cull your colors or buy picayune sets.
- Cardboard for inside of shirt
- Paper to lay out under the shirt
- Circle stickers
- Masking record
Technique:
Identify dots and masking tape anywhere you lot want on the shirt. Brand a blueprint, or randomly place them. Fen decided to make a graphic symbol from Minecraft with the record, and swirl the dots around at the bottom.
Milk shake the paint well, and spray from six-8″ away, keeping the paint moving over the surface. You don't want it to pool in one place. (Practice on a piece of scrap paper beforehand.)
Fen sprayed 2 pigment colors in alternating swoopy-stripes.
Await for the paint to dry, (near an hour), and remove your stickers and record. Leave the shirt solitary for 72 hours before washing. (Or if you're like united states, wear the shirt to schoolhouse the next day.) Yous don't need to oestrus-set up this pigment, unlike other fabric dyes.
What do you think?
